BarCampWashDC was held April 4/5th, 2006.
Here's what happened at BarCampWashDC:
- Started a wiki resource page, http://www.netneutrality.pbwiki.com to explain the issues, collect comments on bills and amendments from the tech community, start a database of emails to use to rally the population, generate ideas for protests, track articles, etc. -- Please contribute your Ideas! Password is F2C--
- Discussed issues relevant to Net Neutrality, including the idea that while it works for Congress, it's not a great motto to use to rally the troops
- Listened to House of Representatives hearings about COPE, or "Barton's bill", on Wednesday afternoon 4/5.
We began immediately after close of F2C (5:00pm) in Silver Spring MD at Mi Rancho (walking distance see map here)
BarCampWashDC continued on April 5, beginning at 9:00 AM in the conference room of
Bingham_McCutchen, Jefferson Court Building, 1025 Thomas Jefferson Street, Washington, DC 20007
Guests were welcome to show up even if you were unable to make the preceeding evening's festivities.
Not everyone on the BarCampWashDCAttendees page actually ended up attending.
Our host was Andy Lipman, Practice Leader, Telecommunications, Media and Technology.
The conference room will have room for up to 45 people, tables, chairs, whiteboards and Wi-Fi.
