Archived version of the first BarCampWaterloo page

BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees.

Event tag: BarCampWaterloo

This will be the first BarCampWaterloo and the hope is that there could be one a term. This first one is more of a miniCamp where the interest can be measured and a few presentations held. If enough interest in present on campus and the surrounding community, another one could be planned for the Fall term and those attending this one can help figure out if it will be more of a DemoCampWaterloo or a BarCamp.

When

  • September 29th at 2pm until 7pm

Where

  • At the University of Waterloo in the Tatham Centre (Co-op building) rooms TC 2218A and 2218B and off campus folks are welcome.

Rough Agenda

For those that need structure, here it is:

  • 2-2:15pm meet and mingle
  • 2:15-2:25pm intro and orientation
  • 2:25-2:45pm post your presentation topics with time estimate and vote for what you want to attend
  • The rest depends on the presentations but things will wrap up no later than 6:30pm. Ideally at 6pm will be a "When is the next BarCampWaterloo?" discussion.

Hosts

Participants

All those attending are 'participants' in BarCamp. You can come to just check things out if you want but everyone attending is considered a participant. If you have a presentation topic in mind just stick in in (brackets).
