Please consider using Carpool on Facebook for rideshare to TransitCampBayArea2. One of our TransitCampBayAirea participants, Logan Green, is the founder of ZimRide, who operates Facebook Carpool. Besides supporting Logan, you will probably find that application easier to use and have more chances to find rides than doing it by wiki. Give it a try at http://apps.facebook.com/carpool/splash.php

Transit options between the East Bay and destinations on the Peninsula, such as Palo Alto, are very limited on the weekends. Participants from the East Bay are encouraged to arrange carpools, as you'll find that it will take you 2.5 hours or more to get to the event venue otherwise.

If you are interested in carpooling to the event, please list here:

  1. whether you are looking for a lift or can give one to other people
  2. your email address
  3. East Bay departure point
  4. which days of TransitCampBayArea you plan to attend
  5. whether you plan to attend TransitCampBayArea only for certain hours

If you are offering a ride, please list how many passengers you can accommodate.

Hey there! I would love to know if anyone is driving from the East Bay...This is what I'm looking for:

  1. I don't have access to a car so I'm looking for a lift
  2. You can email me at miriam-dot-sorell-at-gmail-dot-com
  3. I live in north Berkeley, but I could meet you at any convenient East Bay BART station along your way
  4. I'd be interested in a ride for either or both days of TransitCampBayArea
  5. My hours are pretty flexible so let me know what is good for you!

Does anybody else plan to travel from the Peninsula or East Bay via BART and Caltrain on Saturday, possibly arriving in Palo Alto just after 10? I'll be starting from Berkeley.

Posted 5:26PM 2/21/2008 by Melanie: Hello, I'm Melanie. I'm another East Bay resident:

  1. Seeking a ride. I don't have a car either.
  2. Email: mejarcATtwobanjosDOTcom
  3. I live near Lake Merritt, Oakland, and can also meet you at an East Bay BART station
  4. I'll be attending TransitCampBayArea on Saturday
  5. My hours can be made to fit yours!

I'm also planning to use BART/CalTrain as an alternative.

  3. Leaving from Berkeley, you could meet me in Downtown Berkeley or we can discuss other meeting points
  4. I'm offering for Saturday only at this point.
  5. Leaving around 8:45/9 AM for 10AM arrival; we can discuss return time on the way down though for now I imagine I'll stay all day.
