Purpose

• To introduce and involve the Independent Film community to the capabilities of net media for conversing with a developing audiences, and for syndicating, promoting and distributing works.

When

• Planning meeting on Thursday March 2nd at 21st Amendment brewery located at 563 2nd Street in San Francisco google maps. This is combined with the Ben Metcalfe out of towner meeting. We'll be strategizing, brainstorming and planning IndieFilmCamp location, schedule, etc.

• Proposed date: Sometime Soon (perhaps May-July, 2006 time period)
  • Looking at the weekend of June 17th and 18th, one week after Vloggercon.

Where

San Francisco Bay Area (prefer San Francisco, East Bay is also good.)

• Proposed venue: Space or spaces containing multiple rooms (at least two rooms or single rooms in close locations) for multiple, concurrent activities.
  • Potential locations:
    • CELLspace in San Francisco
    • The Hillside Club in Berkeley
    • Digital Media Factory in Santa Cruz
    • San Francisco School of Digital Filmmaking (Emailed Jeremiah Birnbaum on location sponsorship.)
    • Expression College for Digital Arts in Emeryville
    • BAVC in San Francicso (Emailed Wendy Levy on location sponsorship.)
    • Tara suggested a old movie house like the Stanford Theater. (Problem I gave is getting wi-fi setup. Tara suggested extricom that supports high bandwidth needs.)
    • Suggestion: 9th Street Independent Film Center, they house independent media/film orgs such as the Asian American Film Festival, FilmArts Foundation, Frameline, and the Jewish Film Festival, they have two rooms and a screening room that could possibly be utilized. When I used to work there, FAF had open wifi.
