MinneBarDemos

Page history last edited by PBworks 17 years ago

At MinneBar there will be a series of 10 minute demos of projects (personal or otherwise) sprinkled throughout the day. This page lists the currently suggested demos and who is planning on leading each. Projectors will be provided.

We will do this DemoCamp style:

1. Working code

2. No PowerPoint

Be sure to keep these focused on feedback and collaboration rather than attempting to sell an idea or product. THIS IS NOT A SALES PITCH!

What Runs

Kyle Drake and Kyle Wilson - whatruns.com

A wiki-esque swarming site that will establish a database of known working hardware for BSD/Linux/OSX systems by using real-world feedback, with the ultimate goal of not having to gamble on buying bad hardware (such as lousy wireless adapters with binary BLOBS) anymore. Technical highlights: use of the ez_where plugin for nastier AR finds, psuedo-metaprogramming for record generation, and our approach to multilingual table design and simple control of damage to records.

U of M Masters of Software Engineering Info and Q&A

Are you interested in becoming a better software developer and furthering your career? Professor John Collins will talk and take questions about the U of M Masters of Software Engineering program. The MSSE degree program is designed around the schedule of busy developers, yet you can still get a Masters in two years. Several alumni will be in attendance at MinneBar, too.
