Nairobi Digital Literacy Camps

 

This is a series of events in secondary schools in Nairobi which are aimed at teaching students two things:

  • How to use technology for their education purposes
  • How to use technology to make a positive impact in their communities

 

Event details

When

  • I would prefer it to be in early or mid July before kids begin preparing for their mock exams 
  • July 11th to 16th
  • July 18th to 24th (The idea being we visit one school every single day from 4pm to 6pm)

  • Kenya High School
  • Lenana School
  • Moi Nairobi Girls School
  • Nairobi School
  • St. Georges Secondary School
  • State House Girls Secondary School

* I would propose a week day between 4 pm and 6 pm or a Friday afternoon form 3 pm to 6 pm.

 

Session One (Meet with the computer students if any)

  • Discussions about challenges they are facing in their computer studies
  • Development of Form 4 computer studies project

 

Session Two (Meet with Everyone - The whole school possibly)

  • Prayer
  • Introductory Remarks
  • Video show (10 min or less clips about technology....there are many on youtube)
  • Break into various groups to discuss the two major aims
  • Reports from various group discussions
  • Video show (same concept as before)
  • Closing remarks
  • Prayer
