Inspired by the success of the iPhoneDevCamp, we would like to post a list of application ideas that we can actually implement at the event, or at least get the ball rolling. To that end, please review the list of ideas, post your own, sign up for a project, or if you are a non-coder, add use cases, design ideas, comments, etc. PLEASE do attend if you are not a coder, as we will need testers, usability ideas, design creativity, documentation, etc. All are needed!
Schedule
Day 1
- Overview of current state of proprietary APIs and formats
- Overview of current open efforts - OpenID, Liberty Alliance, i-names
Lunch
- Break out sessions
- Conclusion of Day One
Day 2
- More breakout sessions

- Conclusion of Day Two - action items?
Proposed Sessions
Topics I would like to hear about
- Microformats (specifically the hCard and XFN formats)
- add a topic...
Attention Filtering - Sender and Receiver Options
Mobility - location integration (GPS/Cell Site & WiFi Site Mapping ala Navizon)
For Mobility (RobertFiccaglia):
- use cases: what is the user going to do with location (now that I know "where you at?", why do I care?
- sharing: who is watching me and why? Can I revoke permission? how do the carrier networks protect this data (more than just limiting vendors?) SHOULD they protect this data or is it mine to control?
- marketing: I don't want location based SPAM, I want location based services, but developers and companies need to see money to invest resources and time; what are the users willing to tolerate? or better yet, what to they WANT to see in terms of marketing approaches?
- other than location, what are other essential mobile social use cases? photo ul/dl? music ul/dl? blogging? twittering? (uh....voice calling? naaaah!)
Rich/Automated Presence - online, on phone, cell phone on, Bluetooth, selective (eg Attention filtering, above)
Do Exactly What they tell you not to do - Link to ALL! Link to who you know or to who you want to know?
What's the status of the php libraries forthe Attribute Exchange?
Interop!
Proposed standard for moving entire networks around....
What would a Grand Unified Social Network look like? What would the API be? How does this compare to Google Socialight and (if anyone knows) mosh.yahoo.com
Badges, applications, widgets, OH MY! Best practices, worst practices. SPAM vs. NOT. Clutter vs. not. Templates and libraries for app generation?
RIA frameworks for widgets: how would one use Laszlo, Flex/Air, others to spruce up the UI?
