Need HELP with the space!

If we want to pull this off as a weekend camp like event we need a space. Both ourselves and the DrupalCamp folks are having deep trouble finding a space. I've tried all my contacts and came up empty. I'd like to recommend one of the following choices:

  1. do a one day event
  2. choose a more condusive city: DC, Philly seem most idea from my guesstimate, but Boston could work as well.
  3. something I haven't thought of that you all have.

Hi. Could someone add more information on requirements for a space? How many people, how many days, will you need to be able to camp there overnight, etc?

Joining DrupalCamp

Oh! another thing I'd like UXCamp folks opinion on is around joining forces with the folks of DrupalCamp. Noel has invited us to combine forces. He said his group would take on getting a space. They are hunting for the weekned of May 14th (I think). I don't know exactly what this would look like, but it might be a nice mashup.

Background

David Heller here. After going to BarCampNYC (Thanx Amit and gang) I was so incredibly inspired, that I knew I wanted to do this for the UX community. I have presented the idea to the UXNet Local Ambassadors and some LAs liked the idea. I'm sure some of you will help me along. Really! I do hope and pray.

The difference here, is that I'm hoping that design and design research of software and technology devices are put central, while an open collaborative and engaging environment that developers can come to and share with the designers and researchers who we hope will be the focus. wino kredyt mieszkaniowy sprzedam mieszkanie sprzedam bilet

What to do

  1. find a space - I have tried to make some contacts and network to find a space that is appropriate, but I'm not finding anything. Options: Choose a different city (DC maybe)? play with format a bit? 1-day event?
  2. pick a date
  3. advertise the event - We got a mention of the event in Boxes and Arrows this latest issue.
  4. find individual and organizational sponsors
  5. What else?
