µfill

RohitKhare did a demo at Supernova Workshop Day of a hack called microfill that can fill in HTML FORMs that happen to use microformats specifications to provide the "schema" for human inputs. For example, faced with an Expedia hotel reservation form that wants a street-address and dates, one could search for "Supernova", choose a matching hCalendar event, and see the box filled in.

ChrisMessina shared some brainstorming that happened at Flock: what if a topbar had a stack of hCards you could "drag and drop" onto a FORM.

GregElin: are you sure this is necessary -- autofill is pretty good, actually. Friends are dependent enough on things like RoboForm that they stick with Windows (say). Can we rethink the scenarios? How about pasting a feed? How about general transclusion: "cut a chunk of some page and paste it somewhere else and keep it up-to-date?" a super-IFrame?

KevinLynch, the Adobe (Macromedia) Chief Software Architect demo'd at ETech live 2-way tabular data sync between flash and Excel.

MattAugustine, a developer at Microsoft working on LiveClipboard, demo'd the latest iteration of how it works together with SSE (the feed synchronization proposal). Showed categories on upcoming.org, say, being pasted into an outlook calendar.

PhilAshlock and NiallKennedy also participated.
