Hadoop hackday Delhi is an intense geek run for 24 strenuous hours attempting to hack something useful, imaginative and working using Hadoop and related distributed computing technologies. For those who don't know, Hadoop is an open-source implementation of the map-reduce design pattern pioneered by google. Dive right in if you're the one who believes distributed computing is the answer to all problems known to man, and have some interesting ideas burning in your guts. We'll fuel you with all you need to get hacking like nuts. 

 

If you haven't used hadoop before that is perfectly fine. Most of the participants have never used hadoop before. Many participants plan on using Amazon Elastic MapReduce, and writing programs in Pig or Hive. So this will be an excellent opportunity to learn how to get started using hadoop with minimal operations overhead in a supportive (yet competitive) environment.

  • Working demoes - 15 mins max for each one: 3.30PM - 5PM
  • Results & Prize distribution: 6PM

Others should put their names down on the list below.  We have a limited number of spots, and if a lot of people want to participate we will have to select from the list. We aren't trying to be exclusionary at all, we just don't have the space for a huge number of people ;->.
