edcamp philly is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees. edcamp is devoted to topics about K-12 education.

Proposed Sessions

  • Make it from Scratch: a simple (and social) programming language for 4th-8th grade students. (Please bring a laptop and, if you can, download Scratch from http://scratch.mit.edu beforehand. This is a hands-on workshop.)
  • Pedagogical uses for QR Codes in and out of the classroom.  
  • LEGO Robotics -- hands-on workshop. LR is a fantastic way to teach grades 6 and up about science, engineering, mathematics, technology, programming, problem-solving, teamwork, and even creativity.
