BarCamp Glasgow 2010

 

BarCamp Glasgow 2010 at STV (Pacific Quay) – 4.30-7.30pm, FRIDAY 18 JUNE – OPEN INVITATION

 

BarCamp Glasgow 2010, in association with New Media Corp and Interactive Scotland, invites you to hear about the latest digital innovation from STV, Spotify &/ or Facebook (TBC), Realtime Worlds, Scotsman.com, Dog, Line, Whitespace, Innovation Digital, Spider Online, New Media Corp, Wildfire, w00tonomy, ISO Design, University of Abertay and the digital team at the Scottish Government, with music from Radio Magnetic/ Open Ear. We also expect guest appearances from Apple and Facebook (TBC).

 

Kicking off at 4.30pm for 5pm, the event will conclude with Rapid Fire Unplugged, featuring an iPad demo as an opener to this informal open forum for anyone to present and share their ideas and expertise with others; there will also be refreshments, networking and a live screening of a World Cup match.

The event will link with blogs, social networks and sites such as Interactive Scotland in order that as many people from Scotland can participate and view live, streamed sessions.

 

The aim of BarCamp 2010 is to provide a strategic platform to engage a broad audience of decision makers, opinion formers, professionals and practitioners, young start-ups and investors across the creative digital industries.

 

The event acknowledges the companies and infrastructure already in place to help the growth of the industry in context to strategies and initiatives such as Digital Inspiration and Interactive Scotland. It also looks at the involvement of broadcasters such as STV and others to help realise maximum potential in terms of innovation, economic and industry growth.
