About SICamp
Social Innovation Camp is about solving social challenges in new ways - by bringing together ideas and digital tools to create web-based innovations in just 48 hours. This Social Innovation Camp will gather participants from different professions - designers, social entrepreneurs, web developers, marketing, legal, advertising, social needs experts and other specialists from Baku and regions of Azerbaijan to work on an idea of a potential social start-up that can make a change and compete for a prize. Camp will finish with a competition to decide on a winning project, which receives further start-up support.
Participants
Participation can be in 2 forms:
1. People who have ideas. They will submit their ideas using online form (available only in Azerbaijani language) for this purpose. There are some idea submission questions to explain their ideas. Idea can be “private” (we will not share these ideas with anyone) or “public” (we will post it online for comments);
2. People who will help to develop these ideas. They will submit their application form (available only in Azerbaijani language) and get involved. These people are really important. We need the help of a huge range of people – from software developers through to business experts, from digital media lawyers to people with expertise in the problems we’re trying to solve - to help make the selected ideas a reality. People also can volunteer to come along for SICamp, they have to tell us what they are interested in and what their skills are (geek, social innovator, entrepreneur and etc.) and we will help them get benefits from SICamp.
From the ideas sent to us, our judges choose the ideas which they think hold the greatest potential to create social change and will benefit most from coming to the Social Innovation Camp. All selected ideas are published online. Through unusual, creative events we bring together talented software developers and designers with social innovators to build effective web-based solutions to real social problems.
