The details of BarCamp Pilani updated.

BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees.

 

BarCampPilani, scheduled to be held during Apogee2011, will be an unconference where the content is provided by the participants themselves. There will be six concurrent sessions running on various themes for one hour each during Apogee2011. The proposed themes are:

1. How Technology can shape the Future.

2. The power of Social Media for networking.

3. Cleantech and sustainability

4. Giving back to the society - Social Entrepreneurship and CSR

5. Making education suitable to meet the challenges of the future

6. Entertainment

 

Unlike a typical conference where there are speaker sessions with Power Point slides, BarCamp Pilani will be a platform where anybody can speak on any issue.

Structure of the Event

 

There will be six concurrent sessions runnning concurrently in the Lecture Theater Complex, BITS Pilani.

Atmost 50 people can participate in a session and people are also allowed to attend the event just as audience.

 

When the topic is announced, the participants get 10 minutes time to prepare on it. Then the meet starts with one participant volunteering to speak first. The first speaker can be cross-questioned or stopped anywhere in between under specific guidelines set for the session. The moderator for the session would ensure that all the rules for the session could be complied with.

 

This entire session continues for one hour until the Moderator ends the discussion and gives the conclusion of the discussions of the entire session.
