A-Space is an Analytic Transformation Project that will provide a common analytic workspace for the Intelligence Community. A full description of this project is available on Intellipedia on the JWICS network.

A-Space will provide a robust set of tools and services to allow analysts to conduct the full range of analytic functions. A-Space will be structured in such a way as to allow analysts from across the IC to easily share and debate their findings and insights, identify colleagues working on the same topics or with related expertise, consolidate the combined knowledge of the Intelligence Community on any topic relevant to national security, and work collaboratively to address intelligence consumer requirements and to close critical intelligence gaps.

Over time, A-Space will be enhanced by the addition of tools that will improve the ability of analysts to search and discover information, collaborate among analysts working on the same or similar problems, organize and visualize large volumes of data, and apply analytic methodologies and critical thinking techniques to improve the quality of analysis. In addition, A-Space will allow analysts to carry over the work from one stage of the analytic process to the next, retaining all relevant information with regard to sourcing and analytic insights added along the way and will leverage the Data Layer and Library of National Intelligence initiatives.

The A-Space BarCamp is an effort to better align A-Space with the customer and development goals of the Intelligence Community.
