UN GRAND MERCI A TOUS LES ARTCAMPERS!

L'ArtCamp s'est déroulé le 9 juin dernier à Rennes, un vrai succès!! 70 participants venus de toute la France (principalement Bretagne et Paris) et de pays européens (UK, Suisse, Espagne, Italie, Irlande) ainsi que deux américains, ont participé toute la journée aux 4 ateliers thématiques.

L'APPEL, INFOS ET INSCRITS A L'ARTCAMP :

A BarCamp will be organized in Rennes (France). It will be held on June 9. All are welcome! This BarCamp is on contemporary artistic practices (digital arts, Net art, electronic music, visual arts...) with sciences and ICT. The purpose is to support exchanges between international experts, researchers, engineers, amateurs, artists from all horizons... Everything is possible: to cross methods of innovation, to make known a project or a innovating idea, to imagine new collaborations, to show your experiments, to find competences which you lack...

Ce BarCamp est thématisé sur les pratiques artistiques actuelles (arts numériques, net art, arts vivants, arts plastiques) en lien avec les sciences et/ou les technologies de l'information et de la communication (TIC). L'objectif est de favoriser les échanges entre experts internationaux, chercheurs, ingénieurs, amateurs passionnés, artistes de tous horizons... Tout est possible : croiser des méthodes d'innovation, faire connaître un projet ou une idée innovante, imaginer de nouvelles collaborations, montrer vos expérimentations, chercher des compétences qui vous manquent…

C'est quoi un BarCamp ?

Un BarCamp est une rencontre d'un week-end, une "non-conférence" ouverte qui prend la forme d'ateliers-événements participatifs dont le contenu est fourni par les participants. Tous doivent, à un titre ou à un autre, apporter quelque chose au Barcamp selon le principe "pas de spectateur", "tous participants".

L'événement met l'accent sur les toutes dernières innovations en matière d'applications internet, de logiciels libres, de réseaux sociaux et de toutes autres innovations en lien avec les TIC.

Le nom de BarCamp fait allusion à ses origines, par référence à un terme argotique des hackers, le "foobar". Le premier BarCamp est né en août 2005 en réponse au "Foo Camp", une "non-conférence" annuelle hébergée par le célèbre éditeur d'ouvrages sur les logiciels libres, Tim O'Reilly, dont l'accès est possible sur invitation après sélection des participants.

Dans les Barcamp il n'y a aucune sélection, sauf contrainte de place, seule la date d'inscription est prise en compte, tout le monde est invité à participer quelles que soient ses compétences techniques : on peut présenter un logiciel, une simple idée, une proposition de service, de design ou l'expression d'un besoin. Le rendez-vous rennais "art camp" est thématisé sur les pratiques artistiques en lien avec les TIC (lire plus haut).

What is a BarCamp ?

BarCamp is an international network of unconferences — open, participatory workshop-events, whose content is provided by participants — focusing on early-stage web applications, and related open source technologies and social protocols. The name is a playful allusion to its origins, with reference to the hacker slang term, foobar: BarCamp arose as a spin-off from Foo Camp, an annual invitation-only unconference hosted by open source publishing luminary, Tim O'Reilly.

BarCamps are organized (and evangelized) largely through the web, harnessing what might be called a Web 2.0 communications toolkit. By "open-sourcing" the organizational process of a Foo Camp unconference, that is, codifying it in a wiki and making that publicly available, BarCamp seems to have struck a chord. It has since been implemented in 31 cities around the world and is serving as a reference for unconferences in other fields. The involvement of key figures in the web development community, such as Tantek Çelik and Ross Mayfield, no doubt has helped its adoption.

• PLANNING - INFORMATIONS TECHNIQUES

Planning de la journée :

• L'ArtCamp ouvrira ses portes à 8:30 et prendra fin vers 19:00, le 9 juin. C'est très important de participer TOUTE LA JOURNEE ;-)

• Matin : tous les ArtCampers se présentent et décident des thèmes abordées lors de la journée. Les ArtCampers se répartissent ensuite en différents groupes thématisés (en ateliers).

• Midi: repas sur place, au restaurant des Champs Libres. La participation est de 15€ par personne (paëlla – crumble – boisson – café): merci de nous confirmer par retour de mail si vous souhaitez participer à ce repas.

• Après-midi : les ateliers fonctionnent en parallèle avec une session finale où chaque groupe restitue ses travaux et décident ensemble des perspectives à donner à cet ArtCamp.

Particpants et langues parlées :

• Plus de soixante-dix personnes se sont inscrites à l'ArtCamp! Pour vous faire une idée : http://bArtCamp/org/ArtCampEurope

• La langue parlée de l'ArtCamp sera le Français, mais une majorité de francophones ont indiqué qu'ils parlent aussi l'Anglais. Gemma, une étudiante anglaise, sera présente pour assister les problèmes de traductions. Un atelier pourrait également se tenir en anglais si les participants le souhaitent (à décider le matin).

Informations techniques :

• Un accès WiFi haut-débit est prévu pour l'ensemble de l'ArtCamp.

• Chaque atelier est équipé d'un vidéoprojecteur, de paperboards et crayons, ainsi que d'un seul PC (il est conseillé, mais pas obligatoire, que les participants apportent leurs propres PC ou Mac portables).

Hébergement :

• Si vous préférez arriver vendredi (l'ArtCamp commence le samedi à 9:00am) ou restez à Rennes, vous trouverez des hôtels corrects pas très chers près de la gare SNCF. Vous pouvez trouver des infos ici : http://en.tourisme-rennes.com

• Nous pouvons vous conseiller l' "Hôtel Nemours" (quelques ArtCampers y sont déjà prévus): c'est un petit hôtel deux étoiles récemment rénové avec un niveau de confort satisfaisant, situé dans le centre ville, à 10mn à pied des Champs Libres. SCHEDULE - TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Schedule :

• The ArtCamp will begin at 8:30am and will finish around 7:00pm, 9th June. It is very important to attend the WHOLE DAY ;-)

• Morning: All of the ArtCampers will present themselves and will decide upon themes together. The ArtCampers will then split themselves into different groups, each with a different theme (for each of the workshops).

• Midday: There will be a lunchtime meal (in the Champs Libres restaurant). It will cost €15 per person (paella – crumble – drink – coffee): we would be most grateful if you could confirm with us whether you would like this meal by signing up prior to Tuesday evening.

• Afternoon: The workshops will run simultaneously and then finally converge at the end of the afternoon to find out the obtained results and decide upon perspectives.

Particpants and Spoken languages:

• The ArtCamp will be conducted in French but the majority of French speakers have indicated that they also speak English. Gemma, an English student, will be on hand to help English speakers with any difficulties. One workshop could also be conducted in English if the participants wish to work together (to be decided in the morning).

Technical Information:

• High strength WiFi access will be available in each of the workshops.

• The workshops are equipped with a video projector, paperboards and pens for writing, and one PC (the participants could bring their own PC or Mac laptop).

Hotels :

• If you would like to arrive on the Friday (the ArtCamp will begin on the Saturday at 9:00am) or stay in Rennes, there are some cheap hotels near the station. You can find other hotels here : http://en.tourisme-rennes.com

We recommend the "Hotel Nemours" (some ArtCampers will stay here): this recently renovated two star hotel with a satisfying level of design and comfort is situated in the city centre, near to where the event will be held.
