BarCampAdelaide is part of the BarCampAustralia, and will be held at the same time as other BarCamps across Australia on the 3rd and 4th of March, 2007.

BarCamp is an international network of unconferences — open, participatory workshop-events, whose content is provided by participants — focusing on early-stage web applications, and related open source technologies and social protocols.

BarCamp is 100% non-commercial, non-profit and community driven — no one is paid for their time, no one is charged to come and no profits are made.

A BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, howtos, demos and interaction from participants. If you want to attend, you are encouraged to give a presentation or a demo of some kind. Have a look at wikipedia for more information.

Well we are thinking about renaming BarCampAdelaide to BeachCampAdelaide or perhaps AdelaideBeachCamp. Given that the BarCamp is in a Hall next to the beach at Moana, it'll be summer, beach, weekend ... you get the picture. Bring a towel(janet). and a beach bicycle(kim).
