BarCampAfrica is going to happen on the Google Campus in Mountain View, CA. While Google runs a shuttle for employees from the nearest public transit terminal during weekdays, this will not be running the day of the BarCamp. Currently, we don't know of any bus connections, so other options must be explored.

From San Francisco and Peninsula

The best way to get down to Mountain View is to take Caltrain. It is very frequent and dependable. It is advised to look at the schedule to make sure you give enough time to get to Mountain View. Also, if one is not near the main stations, connection can be made with Bart at the Millbrae Station, which is a transfer point between the two systems.

San Francisco Airport

Take the Bart to Millbrae, transfer to Caltrain, and continue to Mountain View.

San Francisco East Bay

There are two options, with both not being so great. The first is to take Amtrak down to Diridon Station in San Jose and then transfer to Caltrain and depart at Mountain View. The other option is to take Bart to Millbrae, transfer to Caltrain there, and continue down to Mountain View. Please review these systems very, very carefully to make sure all the schedules will mesh up as Caltrain only runs once and hour and could cost you an hour of valuable BarCamp time.

Mountain View Caltrain

This station is the closest that the Caltrain. One or two organizers who will be with cars have volunteered to shuttle folks from this station to the event if notified in advance.

San Francisco South Bay

There is no Bart in the South Bay. Some people may be near a Caltrain station which could then take them to Mountain View. Anyone else living in the area should be able to fill in more details.

Carpooling

Hey! Are you driving alone to BarCampAfrica? That's a nish nish! Lets create a list of folks who are driving and where they are driving from so that we be a little more environmentally friendly in all of this.

Please put your name down stating if you are offering or needing a ride, from where and how many people. Also make use of erideshare. The password is 'Africa'.
