Both Eric and Michael have done a lot to get BarCamp Albuquerque 3 going this year, and for some reason, probably because of their humble nature and support for the community over public recognition, they have not added their names to the organizer list. - OK, what do you want to know about DIS, since I can't obviously cover the entire history, standards and implementation in a reasonable amount of time. Would you rather have a roundtable or....?
- start with what it is / what it's for, enumerate existing open source implementations, pick one and go into more detail, maybe do a simple demo, end with Q&A. -- Michael Bernstein
- Thought of another "practical" topic (at least until apple fixes current firmware problems w/the iPhone) -- How to never have to restore your iphone and still use your apps. Can demonstrate techniques to recover (fairly painlessly) from the three major existing bugs: the "failure to launch" bug, the "infinite boot screen of death" bug, and the "lock during sync" bug. Can also demonstrate techniques for making sure you have a good backup. This might be OBE by 2.1 firmware scheduled to be released on 12 Sep. We'll see.

But I'm new to this whole barcamp thing so I'm not sure if that fits with the vibe of the event. I'll yield to will of the group (or to that of those who can edit wikis).

- Michael Odza - may present on a plan to make money from new social networks without depending on advertising. Will try to bring a whiteboard--I need to buy one anyway.

- Chantal really wants to attend but has Labor Day conflicts. I could do the following weekend if by chance we reschedule.
- Chris is going to be gone Labor day weekend, but September is pretty open.
- The Weekend moved, I assume that this just hasn't been updated, but If anyone knows anyone who had labor day conflicts, please let them know the new date if you haven't already.
- Jessica is wondering if Chef Jim's place has internet/wi-fi. I'm assuming/hoping yes since there is focus on the intertubes, but since it's not specified anywhere... I'm on call for work during conference time which mean sooner or later I'm going to need to remote in.
- Yes, Jim Whites Cafe does have internet, but we are bringing in WiFi, so most likely it will be open and unsecured because it is temporary for us.
