Discussion

Opened to any suggestion. Currently searching any amateur interested to be our official guide to help us to walk and gather in SecondLife ? Allo Grégoire ? -- ChristopheDucamp

While finalizing things like BarCampBankMissionStatement, BarCampBankVisionStatement and BarCampBankMissionPlan would be great, I don't know if we really need to gel ideas that early in the like fo the group and we may continue to do a couple of runs on specifics subjects to give more content to the dynamics of the community. Due to the variance in the different potential projects, I would recommend rather generic subjects - like TrustMetrics was - that would prove relevant in any situation relating to banking and financing. Discussions on project screening, difference between debt and shares, fixed income versus equity like investments, electronic markets could be example where everyone would probably find exchange of ideas worthwile. -- FredericBaud

Hello fellows. I am waiting for my place of employment to create a schedule beyond 12/01/06. As soon as they do, I'll post my available tiems on the doodle scheduler (which I think is a fantastic tool, BTW) I think that we can touch on BarCampBankMissionStatement, BarCampBankVisionStatement and BarCampBankMissionPlan in the Q&A/discussion phases of our "flashmeetings", but still have a presentation at the beginning as the subject of focus for each discussion. So, our discussion of BarCampBankMissionStatement, BarCampBankVisionStatement and BarCampBankMissionPlan cabn be in relation to whatever the more generic subject is. This can help hatch two birds with one egg. Does this sound like a good compromise? (this is basically what we did last time with the TrustMetrics discussion).

Frederic, I'd like to possibly work with you on researching Project Screening, and perhaps one or both of us may present it to the group (maybe not in BarCampBankFlashMeeting4, but in an upcoming one for sure). I have some ideas in this realm, and I know that you have some insights, too. Perhaps we can flesh them out at BarCampBankProjectScreening over the next couple of weeks, and then use an outline of our research as the basis for a presentation?

I can help people with making their way around SecondLife. Perhaps we should set up a teleconference call prior to the meeting, to help people become acclimated. Plus, we need a place to meet, where the landowner gives us permission to meet.

I think SecondLife could be a great place to hold flashmeetings. We could do voice via SkypeCast, or we can use a conference system that I have used that allows calls from both Skype and regular telephones in both Europe and the US, both of which I have the ability to record. I have found and have been experimenting with Metalab Communal Whiteboard. This is one possibility. Here's what I wrote at Communitywiki:BarCampBank:

Here is a snapshot of me in SecondLife with an image that I easily dragged onto the metalab whiteboard from my inventory:

I already have this whiteboard. All that we need is a space that allows us launch this object. I have been looking into finding a group of people who are interested in cooperatively purchasing an island in SecondLife for experimentation, meeting, potential business uses, etc. So, this might be something that we can eventually do with BarCampBank, or that BarCampBank can have access to, in any case.

Let's try to figure out what our needs will be for a SecondLife BarCampBankFlashMeeting4.

  • Voice? (see above)

  • A space in SL, who's owner will allow us to hang out for a while and launch objects temporarily.

  • What else?

Thanks for all. How could we gather and refactor now all the ideas dropped on CommunityWiki:BarCampBank. The metalab communal whiteboard could pehraps join a forge to be mashpitted with the LaurentLunati's SlideBliki. I'd love to imagine any "S5 easy publishing on wikis" accepting any LinkLanguage extracted from this amazing "communal whiteboard\". The CommunalWikiWhiteBoard could perhaps be public and visible from anywhere towards larger audiences than the minority second life residents ;-) Agree with SamRose, a SkypeCast to be prepaired to dive seems to be necessary. Suggestion 6th december at 20:00 during our monthly wiki-meetup (french local time to be translated). Cheers all and thanks for this awesome creativity. -- ChristopheDucamp
