This page is for the swat wifi team of the good people at Meraki and people with facilities at BarCampBlockLocations to coordinate the connections of the internets.

  • Chase at Meraki
  • LizHenry and Griffon Walker at Socialtext
  • Yancey at IDEO for roof access

Coverage desired:

Monday:

  • review SocialText spaces, courtyard behind SocialText
  • install test node in SocialText CoWorking space
  • spoke with Erika Cruz of Princeton Review - we can go in anytime this week or saturday and install some nodes in their corner office (room 6) to cover patio areas
  • liz sent message to Brad about the overhang on that patio - we could put a Meraki node up there, just using a ladder, with a little solar panel to power it.
  • liz emailed Yancie @ IDEO about access to building at 3pm on Tuesday

Tuesday:

  • chase emailed Yancie @ IDEO to confirm building access at 3pm on Tuesday

--- planned

  • contact Erika Cruz to schedule install time at Princeton Review
  • review EdgeIO, Searchspark, IDEO lecture hall spaces
  • meet with Griffon Walker/SocialText to get approval to install nodes
  • install 1 node in SocialText Main
  • install 2 nodes (estimated) in EdgeIO
  • install 2 nodes (estimated) in Searchspark
  • install 2 nodes (estimated) in IDEO lecture hall
  • install 1 node in Princeton Review room 6

Wednesday:

  • install 2 nodes (estimated) in Intalio
  • install 2 nodes (estimated) in IFTF

Open issues:

  • need contact people for IDEO lecture hall, Intalio, IFTF, EdgeIO, and Searchspark
  • slow Net connection at SocialText CoWorking (800 kbps) - recommend we boost this by 5-10x
