Suggestions for Bar Camp Boston 3, a few lessons learned from BarCampBoston2
1. Session Length: Each session should be 30 minutes, it's better to have a need for part 1 and part 2 than stretching 30 minutes of material to an hour.
2. Proposing sessions: Unfortunately at BarCampBoston2 it was hard to tell what the session was going to be about based on a 3-5 word description.
2a. During the opening session, where what an unconference is explained, invite anyone who wants to present to go up write down their topic on a piece of paper, and give them a minute or two to announce it to the group. They then tape it into the schedule grid. This encourages people to propose a talk since they see others doing it.
3. Programming Contest: During the afternoon break (siesta) have everyone interested in the programming contest go to one of the rooms. There they can then vote on the top ten terms used to define the program. Of course a few rules must be defined for the terms. No languages, etc.
