BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees. BarCampBristol2 will be an independent unconference for all kinds of geeks (inc. web, software, hardware, new-media, A.I., Gaming, Other etc etc). (there was a BarCampBristol in 2007 which this one is a followup to). Bristol is one of the finest cities in the UK, famous for Bristol Glass, the Harbour, The Bristolian Dialect, Cider, the Wurzels and Justin Lee Collins.

Planning

  1. Gather Core Organisers, Helpers and Interest
  2. Find a date
  3. Find a location and sponsors
  4. Sort out food

WhenWhereSponsorsWebsite
Sometime between May 2008 and November 2008 (maybe the weekend before/after BarCampLondon4 if in November) (LF - I believe there was discussion of it being between Easter and the start of the summer holidays, last time we did Friday night to Saturday night to make it easier for those with families to attend) Somewhere in/near Bristol Centre. Location will need: Wifi, to be ok with us storing (last time we had most of the food delivered ready to eat at eating time) and eating food, and to hold between 30 and 50 people (based on attendance last time) No one stayed over last time, but that is also a possibility. (not-yet-please contact a core-organiser if you want to sponsor) I suggest the way it happened before is that the core organisers contacted as many potential sponsors as possible. (not-yet)
