PURPOSE
BarCamp is an ad-hoc un-conference born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from attendees. All attendees must give a demo, a session, or help out in some way. Anyone with something to contribute and with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join.
WHEN/WHERE
- Résidence Palace - International Press Center
- Saturday May 20, 2006 / 10h - 18h
CONCEPT
- there will be several separate rooms for presentations/demos
- you will be able to propose your speech/demo on a public board the day itself
- there will be time to mingle between sessions
- there will be Wifi for the attendees - so live demos are possible
- there will be food and drinks in some way or another
- all questions/remarks/suggestions to peter _at_ forret _dot_ com
CONTRIBUTE
As stated above, everyone should contribute in some way. Some options:
- do a presentation on something you feel strong about (see TOPICS)
- do a demo of a software/tool/proof of concept (see TOPICS)
- take pictures of the event and make the good ones public
- do a podcast (audio/video) of the event and make it public
- taking (semi-) professional portraits of attendees (that they can put on their blog)
- doing something neat for side-animation (playing jazz, mixing cocktails, doing card tricks)
- help with preparations before/cleaning-up afterwards
- just writing a post on your blog is not enough - you must participate at the event itself!
