Bar Camp Cape Town

What's The Big Idea?

The idea is to bring the South African tech/geek/creative community together under one roof in the informal "un-conference" environment as per the Bar Camp Ethos. Think of it as Open-Source conferencing, this is YOUR conference, you present, you discuss, you attend, you spread the word.

BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees.

Everyone is encouraged to present anything that they feel other geeks would find interesting. Have a look at the first BarCamp in Cape Town for the varied topics (and the funky logo):

Building some momentum

The Jozi guys held their second BarCamp in October last year. Maybe it's time for Cape Town to hold another one! So sign up to participate or volunteer or help plan it.

Then blog about it and invite your friends..and think about what you're so passionate about you can't wait to speak about it at BarCamp!

This wiki is a work-in-progress, so jump right in and edit away.

There is a BarCampCapeTown mailing list (not sure who administrates it? It's currently full of spam).
