Conversations about online social networking for high school students, parents, teachers and administrators, web industry people and researchers.
Date to be confirmed. Christchurch, Aotearoa New Zealand. Venue to be confirmed.
Online social networking is a significant activity in New Zealand, especially among people of high school age. Concerns about safety and privacy abound, as do horror stories and attempts to curb young people's access to it. What is actually happening in online social networking sites? What are the dangers, and what are the opportunities? Could the lack of dialogue about this be more dangerous than online social networking itself? Let's engage creatively in conversations about this.
