What is a BarCamp?
A BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants.
Here is a quote from the wikipedia description:
'BarCamp is an international network of unconferences — open, participatory workshop-events, whose content is provided by participants — focusing on early-stage web applications, and related open source technologies and social protocols.'
BarCampDakar 2008 will be held in Dakar on 18/10/2008 as a way to promote IT culture and social business in Senegal and subsaharian Africa, on a variety of levels and topics, together in one place for a day of exploration, connection and enjoyment.

Who? Anyone who is interested in technology, mobility, art, social business, sustainability, micro-finance, culture, design
• What? A good opportunity to share ideas, start conversations and build connections with African peoples and organizations making a positive impact with others parts of the world
