Got an idea for a systems management session? Edit the wiki, add your session idea, and we’ll do our best to make sure you have time to take the stage. Product and company pitches are highly discouraged.
- Building Micro-competition (LukeKanies, Reductive Labs) - Discussing and encouraging the decoupling of components so that individual components can compete rather than forcing users to choose between large, coupled stacks. This includes developing and publishing APIs.
- Cloud Computing - Where does ESM fit in? (John Willis, Johnmwillis.com) - How is cloud computing going to affect ESM? What should ESM vendors be doing today and what will the future look like? Google if you a listening ... I am calling you out ... If you really want to help "open" then please come and lend a hand.
- Getting Enterprise Developers on board with ESM (Alex Honor, ControlTier) - How do developer's view us? We're the guys that get out of bed at 4am to fix something that "worked for them just that afternoon" They want to focus on things like source code, build artifacts, and containers, yet we're always talking about tools built on concepts like hosts, configurations, and subnets. So how do we get developers on board with our cause? How do we get their tools (scm, build tools, IDE's, packaging, etc..) and their ways of working aligned with how we know operations needs to run? Where should the handoffs and integrations take place?
