Introduction

barcampff

BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees.

BarCamp has often be referred to as the unconference, a reference to the non-structured and non-strict scheduling system. In practical terms it's a way for people to share ideas in a loosely-structured environment. And hopefully leave with solutions or connections.

Most BarCamp scenarios seem to have a somewhat technological focus, but that might be because techies are not quite the loners they pretend to be :-) I'd like to see BarCampFairfield be what Steve Cooperman described (paraphrased):

just a bunch of interesting people, not necessarily techies ... gathered to interact, learn, teach and share.

BarCampFairfield will be a 1 day event, an experiment in bringing people together to collaborate and to see where that leads.

In the eternal words of Chairman Kaga: Allez BarCamp!
