Fireside Brainstorm

集思廣益

This is a public space to suggest ideas for the event - anything that comes to mind to help us all enjoy a more fruitful event.

這是給大家隨便提意見的公共空間﹐想到甚麼東西可以幫我們把活動搞得更好﹐當然要提案呀!

  • I am an undergraduate who is going to have a FYP on AI next year. It would be nice to have a session talking about the experience in developing an expert system or something else related. -- KS

Proposed Sessions

Add a proposed topic that you might want to discuss with others. The schedule will be decided on the day of, but we can get some brain juices flowing here first.

  • I'd like to lead a discussion about running a tech startup in Hong Kong. I might also do a session on Ruby on Rails if there's time. -- Aaron
  • I'd love to see any sessions related to gaming: gaming companies in HK, game programming techniques, marketing, whatever. -- Aaron
  • Scripting languages review - william
  • I want to do a session on Eclipse RCP. -- Andrei
  • MailSaurus is an Ajax-based open source secure, encrypted webmail system. The site has been active for three years, but it is about to be shut down due to funding issues. I would like to see if anyone in Asia would be willing to adopt it because I think it would be quite useful for dissidents in China, Myanmar, Tibet, etc. -- Jim
  • Open source EDM management software -- Vinko
  • I'll demonstrate a mashup (if I ever get time to finish it!!) - Steve Fleischer
  • Yahoo and the Shi Tao case: What can we all learn from what happened? Where do we go from here (constructively) if we really care about users and their rights? -- Rebecca M.
  • www.bywifi.com is a mobile website which provides searching, saving and realtime transcoding 3GP video services for mobile phones. It also optimizes Web pages for mobile phones, providing a richer browsing experience. I would like to share the 3gp realtime transcoding and mobile web technology with you. If you are interested in it, you can visit http://www.bywifi.com -- bywifi
  • I could talk about an AJAX-portal (sort of igoogle/netvibes) that I have worked on a while ago. The sponsorship has ended and I hate to see the effort wasted - Jack Hung.
  • can talk about internet and censorship issue in hk, especially the obscene article ordinance - oiwan
