The specific talks in each session will be finalised over the next few weeks. If you are interested in demoingor sharing a perspective, please contact the planning team or Hysea.

The event will be an opportunity for the technology and products fraternity to interact and network as also to highlight the support eco-system available in Hyderabad for new products and startups. Apart from showcasing products being built out of Hyderabad, we will have leaders from Product companies and the VCs/academicians share experiences building IP and products. We will also be compiling and releasing a ‘Hyderabad Software Products Directory’. Below is the early announcement being sent out to our member companies.

  • Have a specific showcase of successful products from Hyderabad.
  • CEO Speak- where we have successful Product entrepreneurs/leaders from Hyderabad sharing their experiences and views on specific facets of startups.
  • End with eco-system presentations- VCs, Hysea, TiE, IIIT/ISB, hardware vendors and others that have some support system/offerings for startups.

On the whole a comprehensive event that will both highlight the products and successes from Hyderabad (important for someone deciding to venture in) and also talk about the eco-system available. We will have talks from other MNC product dev orgs and established local product companies (like Pramati, SDG, Zustek, FourSoft, Yasu).

Key outcomes we are hoping for

  1. Showcase products and successes from Hyderabad- to communicate unambiguously that there is a lot of product development and innovation work happening here. Both in startup modes as well as independent product work at offshore centers for MNC product companies.
  2. Create and publish a Hyderabad-Product-registry- a list of product companies and products they build.
  3. Specifically promote student startups (attached PPT has ideas)
  4. Create an Innovation lab- for student startups and research centric products
  5. Highlight that there is a clear eco-system and support network available. Publicize very clearly. (Any new startup should get the confidence from proven past successes, and also be well aware of the support system and contacts).

In two parts. First one for startups/technologists, and second a seminar with invited speakers and guests.

Part 1: Demos

In two tracks… Tech productsPortals/Services Press interactionsPress must be invited. And highlight the product opportunities, present traction and Hysea’s plans

How it started

The fifth BarCamp at Hyderabad ended up tremendous! IN keeping with the products and startups spirit, we had asked Hysea (Hyderabad Software companies' association) to talk about their push for IP and products. Suheim Sheikh, Founder of SDG (now part of 3i-infotech), who now heads the Products Initiative at Hysea, came and spoke briefly on Hysea and the Products' push. This was followed by a talk from Prasad Y (Co-founder of Teleonto), also active in startup circles in hyderabad, to share his ecperiences starting up Teleonto.

Carried by the momentum, in a sidebar discussion, right there the next barcamp took shape! We decided to conduct a "Products Barcamp"! In conjunction with Hysea & TiE. In the BarCamps most of the active participation is among technology enthusiasts or startups/aspiring-startups. There is a clear emphasis on technology startup ideas. Given this, Suheim suggested if we can build on this and have a barcamp focused just on Products and Startups- a ‘Product Barcamp’. The idea is to continue on from the Product Awards’ nominations.
