BarCampIndy 2008 Date Discussion

There's been a slowdown in conversation in recent days.

 

Saturday, February 9th has been proposed as the day for BarCamp Indy 2008.

 

This discussion's goal is to have a final decision by this friday, November 9th.

 

Otherwise the assumption is that silence is consent.

 

Here's the conversation brought over from the page dedicated to Venue.

 

  • Would anyone like to propose some dates so we can start the selection process?
    • Scott: I'm gonna propose February 9th. It works particularly well for me; but I'm open to any Saturday in Feb.
      • I know Saturdays are tough for Neil because of his work at the UB Cafe.
    • Neil: Not a problem if it's innovative... thus will enhance (in the long run) our various endeavors.
    • Feb 2nd works for me, I'm open to any Saturday in Feb. as well.

 

  • Do we schedule to coincide with another event in the city or do we try to avoid other events?

 

  • For a first time out, we should plan a 1 day event. How do we feel about a Friday or Saturday?
    • Gregor: I think a Saturday is a better idea, to maximize attendance.
