Hi everyone,
Here’s a short summary of what happened at the first BarCamp JB meeting. I also added some updates based on the emails that have been bouncing off over past few days.
• Brief introduction of potential volunteers on what BarCamp JB is and what to expect.
• Venue is confirmed at MSC Cyberport 29th floor and we will have 3 “rooms” to run concurrent sessions.
• The date we are aiming for is December 6th & 7th and MSC Cyberport is okay with this.
• Volunteers were asked to raise their hands for one of roles below and so far here’s what we got:

- Ringleader: Maxx, Eugene and Aisyah
- Secretary: Cheryl Goh & Jae
- Treasurer: Cheryl Goh
- Sponsor Wrangler: Dave, Cheryl Goh
- Venue Sponsor and management: Amanda, Eugene, Aisyah, Ganesh (MSC Cyberport)
- Speakers: Ganesh, Daniel (to find speakers)
- Physical marketing tools: Jae
- BarCamp JB logo: Azam
We still need
- Sponsorship wrangler – you can never get enough of these
- Food czar
- Designer for T-shirt, name tags, and buntings
- Speaking sessions
- Community reach out- talking to the grassroot community
- Participant registration
- Equipment and security
- Photographer
What next?
The next volunteers meeting is on the 13th of October
We need to focus on:
- Reaching the community
- Sponsorship
- Speakers
