Volunteer Meeting Notes 1

Hi everyone,

 

Here’s a short summary of what happened at the first BarCamp JB meeting. I also added some updates based on the emails that have been bouncing off over past few days.

 

• Brief introduction of potential volunteers on what BarCamp JB is and what to expect.

• Venue is confirmed at MSC Cyberport 29th floor and we will have 3 “rooms” to run concurrent sessions.

• The date we are aiming for is December 6th & 7th and MSC Cyberport is okay with this.

• Volunteers were asked to raise their hands for one of roles below and so far here’s what we got:

  • Ringleader: Maxx, Eugene and Aisyah
  • Secretary: Cheryl Goh & Jae
  • Treasurer: Cheryl Goh
  • Sponsor Wrangler: Dave, Cheryl Goh
  • Venue Sponsor and management: Amanda, Eugene, Aisyah, Ganesh (MSC Cyberport)
  • Speakers: Ganesh, Daniel (to find speakers)
  • Physical marketing tools: Jae
  • BarCamp JB logo: Azam

 

We still need

  • Sponsorship wrangler – you can never get enough of these
  • Food czar
  • Designer for T-shirt, name tags, and buntings
  • Speaking sessions
  • Community reach out- talking to the grassroot community
  • Participant registration
  • Equipment and security
  • Photographer

 

What next?

 

The next volunteers meeting is on the 13th of October

We need to focus on:

  • Reaching the community
  • Sponsorship
  • Speakers
