BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees.

See all four variants here... no one could think of an iconic image for Leeds, so we went with variations on the White Rose of Yorkshire!
Event details
When
- I'm thinking 28+29th July or any of the last three weekends in August...this gives us plenty of time to promote :)
- End of August seems pretty good, plenty of time to plan and its past most of the music festivals that a lot of campers will be going to (not me though :( ) - Dom
- End of August certainly seems better to me; too many people away in July - and we're having a baby ;)
- Unless its the last weekend in august I can't make it, but end of august seems a good idea as most other events are geared more towards late july/early august because of school holidays. -- Caius
- I'd push it a bit later to mid-September, but that's purely because I'm away for the summer and won't be back until then! -- TS
- I think September too - August is real down time. Anyone with kids will be away on holiday. September would be a good time to kick off everyone's return to work - IanG
- How about September 15/16? -- TS
- Beware dconstruct/barcampbrighton around september 7th - AndyM
- Beware the Leeds mapping party event on September 15th/ 16th. How about 22nd/ 23rd? - Deb B.
Where
- Potentially the Round Foundry - short walk from plenty of hotels, restaurants, parking and the train station...could use a couple meeting rooms and the atrium.
- Leeds Met has suggested the use of Old Broadcasting House - it's just been refurbished and has some superb facilities, wifi and plenty of rooms for sessions :)
Hotels & Accomodation
- There's an Etap hotel near the river for £32/night.
- Overnighting at the camp itself is always fun...! -- TS
