Last year Chris Schultz brought BarCamp to New Orleans by organizing BarCampNola2008.
By all accounts, the event was a success. We all had a great time, and all year we've been hearing the same questions:
"When's the next BarCamp?"
"When are we getting the techies together again?"
Well, the answer is: July 18th, 2009!
And YOU are invited.
What is BarCamp?
BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees.
It is an open event where each attendee is encouraged to participate and present. All content comes from the attendees and each workshop or presentation is scheduled on the day of the event, differentiating it from 'regular' conferences. BarCamp is an 'un-conference'. It is a meeting of the nerds/geeks who exchange information about what they are passionate about and share it with their peers. While it is encouraged to be somewhat technology oriented, all themes are welcome.

Proposed Sessions
Although presenting at BarCamp is not required, it is encouraged. It's all about sharing your ideas and passions with the group.
You don't have to be an expert on the topic, just be ready to start a discussion!
Actual presentation times and topics will be decided on the morning of the event, but if you know what the topic of your presentation might be, go ahead and let us know. This will help us prepare for the event.
Topics I would like to hear about
On the flip side, is there something you would like to hear about? Perhaps someone will volunteer to present it. (Or, we just might ask you to do it... You've been warned. ;)
Proposed Workshop
We are currently looking for a topic for the all day workshop. Have any suggestions?
