Anders Ramsay and Kelly Lupo offered to handle equipment

Equipment Checklist

Following our walkthrough of the Microsoft office space, this is the list of equipment needed.

  • If you think something is missing from this list, please add it.
  • If you can bring something, please add your name to the corresponding line-item.

Item Needed Qty Needed Who Will Bring This Notes
Power Strips around 10
Extension cords around 10
VGA cables 4
VGA-DVI adapters 4
Projectors 4 (As a backup, or if we want to project in a hallway or the like)

What has been offered so far

  • Matt Katz has a big HD 3k lumen projector he's willing to bring
  • Eric Skiff has volunteered a projector
  • Noel Hidalgo has a projector with extension cord
  • Kelly Lupo has 3 extension cords and 3 powerstrips
  • William Stratas can bring his Apple Airport Express - wirelessly connects up to 9 users
  • Sunny can bring wireless AP's again ... newer ones without faulty Sveasoft WRT54G firmware

The network

Someone from Microsoft will be setting up the wireless network. As of right now, we're not aware of any equipment needs.

Sunny Dubey from the NYLUG was a HUGE help in this regard last year. (Even so, the network broke down under load a few times.)

Equipment setup for the previous NYC Barcamp

Nick Gray organized this last year. Read his points and feel free to contact him with advice. He did a great job.
