Who's talking about us
What is it?
What is BarCampOttawa? Think of it as a way to get the tech/geek community together in Ottawa. Only one thing is certain: It's up to you to decide. The most important thing you should take away from the event? Relationships with other geeks in Ottawa!
(As stolen from BarCampNYC, as copied from...) BarCamp is an ad-hoc un-conference born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from attendees. All attendees must give a demo, a session, or help with one.
Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join.
When you come, be prepared to share with barcampers. When you leave, be prepared to share it with the world.

Proposed Sessions
Barcamp is about participation and discussion. What do you want to talk and learn about?
- How about one on dealing with changing requirements but still delivering on time?
- Could we see the Iotum demo that won the "Demo God" award this January?
- How about a Voice 2.0 presentation / panel discussion?
- How about beyond the cliche voice 2.0 to speculation on the future of personal/business communication as a decentralized federation of heterogeneous systems.
- serendipity or hysteria- context, presence, relevance, tigers, oh my!
- Please do not use the phrase "Web 2.0"... call it by any other name, just not this over-used catchphrase with no meaning!
When
Saturday, April 22, 2006.
Where
BitHeads ( http://www.bitheads.com/index.php ) has offered their fantastic site at 1309 Carling Ave.
Cost
Free as in beer. But there's a catch. Attendees are expected to contribute back to the conference by participating actively. "Active participation" might mean giving a presentation, helping with a presentation, blogging or podcasting the event, or whatever other creative ways to contribute people can come up with.

Questions
- Getting to Ottawa - anyone from TO interested in renting a car? Or are we riding RV style with Mr. Morin
- Will there be a WiFi connection available? - We believe so, still confirming...
- When does the event start? How long will it be?
- How long should the sessions/presentations be?
