What is it?
What is BarCampOttawa? Think of it as a way to get the tech/geek community together in Ottawa. Only one thing is certain: It's up to you to decide. The most important thing you should take away from the event? Relationships with other geeks in Ottawa!
Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join. When you come, be prepared to share with barcampers. When you leave, be prepared to share it with the world.
Questions? Check out the google groups mailing list at: http://groups.google.com/group/barcamp/ or just post them in the "Questions" section at the bottom of this page.

Scheduled Sessions
Barcamp is about participation and discussion. Below is a list of some of the presentations that are already scheduled but feel free to add yours. We'll have projectors, screens & white boards. Bring a laptop, memory stick or what ever you need to illistrate your points - PowerPoint, demos', code snippets or what ever - to engage participants.
Sessions are 40 minites, but with an active audience, probing insights and both you and the audience involved in Q&A a 15 or so minute presentation is all that needed to start the discussion.

Proposed Sessions
What do you want to talk and learn about?
- How about a Voice 2.0 presentation / panel discussion?
- How about beyond the cliche voice 2.0 to speculation on the future of personal/business communication as a decentralized federation of heterogeneous systems.
- How about a discussion of patents and strategy around patents?
- serendipity or hysteria- context, presence, relevance, tigers, oh my!
- Blogging and Customer Relations
- CSS 3 & Ajax (Vlad M.)
- I've been mulling over a potential discussion on either challenges associated with blog technology in an enterprise, and/or why published content (whether from a blog, CMS, or wiki) needs to project different views depending on the context (e.g. based on language, inside/outside firewall, identity, etc.) I'm not sure I have enough for a full talk.Feedback is welcome. (GavinMcKenzie, gmckenzi@gavinmckenzie.com)
- Wiki, MediaWiki, Semantic Wiki, microformats and Wiki - Evan Prodromou Wysiwyg,
- Software Effort & Schedule Estimation - COCOMO - James S.
