You wanna lead a session at BarCampRDU? Add it here. We'll need your sessions name, your name, a brief description, and if you're looking for people to co-lead your session or whatever.
- Social Networks - FredStutzman. We'll spend a session talking about Social Networking Websites, such as Myspace, Facebook and Linked In. We'll look at them, figure out why people use them, and share ideas about how businesses can leverage social networks.
- Information Archeology - Kevin Webb. We can talk about ways to move beyond digital archival and toward construction, exploration and sharing large datasets in a form that have direct value to communities that might not normally be geared up for computationally intensive work (social sciences, public at large, etc.). As an example I'm bring the All Patents Initiative, an effort I'm involved with to make available the entire USPTO patent collection. It would be great if other folks want to join in (ibiblio? Google search appliance folks, etc.?) to talk about other aspects of creation and accessibility for large datasets.
