Product Demos
BarCamps aren't trade shows. We will allot two sessions to let local small/startup companies demo their products in a few minutes or less. The purpose is to show off cool ideas, find collaborators or potential hires and wow the audience.
Imagine this as your format:
- Who we are
- Why we matter
- Wow the crowd
Since space will be limited for demo sessions, companies are required to sign up. Doing a sales presentation is going to bore people to death, so get up there and show what makes the product cool. If more companies sign up than we can accomodate, the barcamp organizers will jury the submissions.
Demo Company Signup:
OneBigMix.com -- Music-centered social networking, group-based file sharing, and preference-based digital object recommendations. Currently in early beta. I'm #21 in the attendance overflow queue, but I'm hoping to make the cut.
IntelliContact.com -- Web 2.0 Email Marketing Service from Broadwick that makes it easy to create, send, and track permission-based email newsletters, RSS feeds, surveys, and autoresponders. Over 5,000 customers currently, in v4.0 release.
Please also note - if you're working on an open source project, or representing a non-profit, stuff like that, this demo probably isn't the right venue for you - just claim a session and see who comes (or band up into a non-profits section, etc). This section is for for-profit ventues who want to show BarCamp why they kick ass.
