• 5/09/07: WiFi :: Hey folks - if anyone has a wireless router they'd be able to donate to the BarCamp for the day, please email me. Not sure if we'll need them, but I just want to get an idea if we'll have a few, in case we do. Thanks! Jason Morrison Update we'll have open wi-fi, courtesy of RIT, so additional routers should not be necessary.

• 5/09/07: BarCamp Approacheth :: The BarCamp is swiftly approaching! Thanks to everyone who is pitching in and helping us out! We placed the order yesterday for 60 shirts. As we've said before, we'll be holding to the wiki signup list, so the folks who registered first on the wiki will get dibs to any limited supplies. That being said, we've tried to plan as well as possible to accommodate everyone! We'll get started in room 2400 at 10:00am.

• 5/06/07: Donations Optional!
  This event is going to be fantastic, but we need a little help in the funding department. The response for participation has been much stronger than anticipated, and we're trying to pull together another $150 to cover the difference. This is a completely optional donation, but would be much appreciated. If we received $3 from each participant, this would be more than enough to put us in the black! BarCampRochester2 is a non-profit event.

• 5/05/07: We encourage everyone to bring some snack or drink(non-alcoholic) to share. Homemade snacks get extra stars. :) Show us your culinary skills. Or shopping skills.

• 5/01/07: We have an attendance cap! Based on sponsorship and available space, we are aiming to have 50 participants at the BarCamp. Please ensure that *you are on the wiki with and email address* if you plan to come, it will be the basis for the authoritative attendance list. Click the Edit button at the top of this page to do so - the password is c4mp. Your email address is crucial, as I will be emaililng folks in the days before the event to coordinate and confirm participation. If you'd rather not put your address here, email me at jason dot p dot morrison at gmail dot com. If you have any problems editing the wiki, email me. If there are already 50 people on the list, please sign up anyhow, in case other folks are unable to attend. Also, start thinking about those session topics! :) I can't wait to see this take off!

P.P.S: Heck yeah you heard right, we'll have video coverage for at least one session per block. That means everyone who can't join us in person can later relive some of the BarCampRochester2 excellence through the web!

What is BarCamp?

In the spirit of FooCamp, BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees.

All attendees must give a demo, a session, or help with one. All presentations are scheduled the day they happen. Prepare in advance, but come early to get a slot on the wall.

Presenters are responsible for making sure that notes/slides/audio/video of their presentations are published on the web for the benefit of all and those who can't be present.

Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join.

NO SPECTATORS, ONLY PARTICIPANTS!

When you come, be prepared to share with barcampers. When you leave, be prepared to share it with the world.

Who

This is a multi-disciplinary event... meaning that we want designers, developers, marketers, engineers, artists, thinkers and reality-checkers... no more bubbles -- we want cross-pollination! If you want in, like technology, to build things or asking good questions, you should come!
