BarCamp San Diego 2 is an ad-hoc gathering of technical professionals, internet enthusiasts, and others in the San Diego area who wish to share and learn in an open environment.
Attendees don't just watch a set list of speakers. They give their own talks. Podcasting. Web standards. Microformats. Gum stick computers. Physical security. Robotics. Evolutionary algorithms. Yoga for programmers. It can be anything.

In honor of the 2007 San Diego Fires, the theme of this BarCamp is "fire".
The fires were a really significant event for many San Diego citizens, and we're hoping to use BarCamp as a forum for discussing people's experiences and thinking about ways we can all use technology to better cope with future disasters.
- Nate Ritter will share his experiences twittering the fire (for which he was interviewed by WIRED)
- Nate will also lead a discussion about building a Citizens News Network to cover future emergencies
- We're having a group slideshow... so if you have any photos from the fire, please bring them and share!

Wii Bowling tournament
Love Wii Bowling? We're going to be hosting a Wii Bowling tournament on Saturday night at BarCamp. This three-round tournament will pit you against some of San Diego's awesomest people, who may or may not have any Wii Bowling skills whatsoever. It'll be a blast!

- Laptop + power cord

- New ideas, new product demos
- Cool stuff to share with new friends
- Extra Wii controllers (for the tournament)
- Games for the evening
Volunteers needed
We need your help setting up the rooms and getting the space ready for all the Barcampers who are coming. We're also going to make a big Costco run on Saturday morning, so peeps with Costo cards and/or vehicles would be sweet too!
