Where
San Francisco & Bay Area (California)
- Proposed venue: Need a place with room - who can volunteer their office building for a weekend?
- Microsoft has previously offered space; additionally OSAF is an option if we coordinate far enough in advance
- France Telecom has a location in South San Francisco.
When
- Proposed date: June 20 (one year anniversary of microformats.org!)
- KevinBurton - wait... why June 20? that's a Tue. Why not have this on a Friday so that it goes over the weekend?
- ChrisMessina - Kevin, feel free to follow up on the Discussion page... basically we want to coincide w/ the Suprnova conference (not related to the effort Mar Canter kicked off since ours was already being planned). However, you're free to host a Barcamp prior to that if you like!
- TantekÇelik - there are two concrete possibilities in the works right now, maybe we'll make one a one-day mashpit, followed by a BarCamp over the weekend.
- 6/20, hosted by Kevin Werbach at Wharton in downtown SF
- 6/23 evening through 6/25 evening, hosted by Nima of Microsoft at their 1 Market St. location. Yes, with actual onsite camping!
Potential Hosts
- Kevin Werbach at Wharton West / Downtown SF
- Nima D. at 1 Market St. / Downtown SF
- PaulDSmith (at ???)
Planners
- TantekÇelik (in touch with Kevin and Nima re: venue)
- ChrisMessina
- EricaDouglass
- ... sign up here if you are ready and able to actively help with working on this camp (yes that means both with helping planning, and getting tasks assigned to yourself!)
Campers (add yourself if you want to go!)
Camp Ideas
- PaulDSmith - I'm transfixed on mobile, so I'd love to have a multi-hour DEMO FEST. People bring their phones, some sign up to demo, others download/log in/signup. for 15 each, we show-n-tell, play, comment....then move on to the next one.
- TantekÇelik - I'm thinking we do an "old school" BarCamp, no pre-planned sessions, start with an empty grid. Three word intros. The whole bit.
