Ideas Sandbox

Here is where random ideas for the event are put in.

  1. It would be great if this is a three day event. The event can start on Friday night and then continue on Saturday and Sunday.
  2. BlogCamp should be even more informal than BarCampChennai. Throw in intersting debates, panel discussions, brainstorming sessions, on the spot contests, live webcasting, better video blogging and podcasting.
  3. This should undoubtedly be the BIGGEST blog event in Asia.
  4. The blogbook (another huge colloborative project) will be launched at the event.
  5. The learnings from BarCampChennai will be applied to this event.
  6. This time arrange accomodations for folks coming in from out of Chennai.
  7. This would be a good place to have Global Voices Online Chennai edition. Should discuss with the GVO folks about this.

Things To Do

- # Fix realistic dates for the event. It should be atleast two months away to factor in various planning activities. Make sure that the dates don't clash with any other events.-

  1. Find out approximate cost requirement for the event
  2. List down prospective sponsors
  3. Design logo
  4. Every event must be recorded as podcast and as video and uploaded. This should be planned very carefully.
  5. List down the various topics that will be discussed.

Venue

Anna University looks to be the best bet. We have set up a high level of familiarity and confidence with the director and staff at Ramanujan Computing Centre. We are also getting some excellent support from computer science department.

We are open for other venues as well. If you know of any other good venue, list them here along with contact details (if any).

Food

If its Anna Univ, then food is not a problem. The canteen caterer provides excellent food at very reasobale prices.
