Planning for BlogCampPune has started. Things are starting to take shape, though still a long way to go. Blogcamp Pune will be held in Pune on 16th June 2007.

What's it all about?

BlogCampPune is a free unconference focusing exclusively on blogging, organized by bloggers for bloggers. It‘s built upon the principles of the famous BarCamp (ad-hoc unconference) focussed on sharing, learning and new ideas.

This is going to be an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction between attendees. Any blogger who wants to contribute is welcome and invited to join.

In the spirit of BarCamp, if you attend, be prepared to present something (even if it's just 10 minutes).

4th April 2007: Two of the sponsors in pipeline backed off. It's not a sad thing, but the way they refuse is just mind boggling. One of the person I was in touch with and it's a big name on web, said that we can't sponsor in the traditional way you are seeking sponsorship. We can give you our stickers. WOW!! What a modern way of Sponsorship.

11th March 2007: Updated the Sposorship Guide.

7th March 2007: Got another call from the same representative (will reveal the name after he agrees to sponsor the event). We need to make some additions to our Sponsorship Guide, like there is nothing mentioned about the stationary and the backdrop (I was not even aware of what a backdrop is, but he told me in details about it). Task for today: make the necessary additions to the Sponsorship Guide.

6th March 2007: We have finalized our sponsorship guide. It is available on the SponsorBlogCampPune page.

5th March 2007: Got a call from a company representative regarding the sponsorship details. They are keen on being the title sponsor. We have not really thought of any categories of sponsors. We were planning to keep it more open where sponsors will decide how much money they want to give and we will display their names accordingly. Task for today: create a list of benefits for sponsors & decide upon the categories of sponsors.
