Inspired by the community, ad hoc, unconference model of BarCamp, and driven by the desire to spark the imagination of developers to create the next generation of big bandwidth applications, the Lafayette CampFiber will bring together local developers in the Lafayette area to discuss the opportunities being created by the deployment of LUSFiber, soon to be one of the fastest residential networks in the country.
The event will be held Oct 4th starting at 9am at the Travis Technology Center in Lafayette, LA.
It will feature the following components:
- A presentation, Q&A, and suggestion session with Lafayette Utility Systems about the capabilities of LUSFiber
- A presentation, Q&A, and suggestion session with Abacus Data Exchange, who's hosting the event and offers the power of LiquidIQ to developers
- A more traditional BarCamp section where developers talk to developers about the latest technologies and platforms they're working on
- A local leaders roundtable where representatives from healthcare, education, government, and business sit down to share their pain points and wishlists to help inspire societally transformative technologies rather than more YouTube and Facebook clones
- A VC 101 session headed up by Chris Schultz of Voodoo Ventures to help educate entrepreneurs and angel investors on how to work together to maximize the potential of what's possible in Lafayette.
Also in the works is a gathering the evening before on Oct 3rd during which leaders from the community can come together and better understand the potential of what's happening with the Lafayette CampFiber.
Much more info to come soon as we set up a site for registration and group discussion.
