This inaugural un-conference is about convening a group of trans-partisan citizens and civil servants (and perhaps even elected officials?) to share ideas about how technology can make New York State Government work better for all the citizens of the Empire State. (What's an unconference? Why "Camp"? We were inspired by Barcamp)
Sponsors / Organizers
Sessions
This first CapitolCamp is sponsored by the New York State Senate, and will be led by the Senate's CIO on how the Senate is using technology to reinvent itself. At this un-conference, the Senate's CIO Office will use this opportunity to brainstorm the road ahead for technology in the Senate.
In another session, the New York State Office of the Chief Information Officer will focus on how technology is being used to transform State Agencies.
A third session will focus on comparing and contrasting New York State's use of technology in its government with that of other States.
Propose your session on the CapitolCampNY's sessions page.

Want a ride?
If you are coming from NYC, we highly recommend riding Amtrak's 63 Maple Leaf. This train costs $51.00 and departs from Penn Station at 7:15am. It is scheduled to arrive at 9:48am. Please note, we are looking into renting a bus for the return journey back into NYC. Otherwise the last train to NYC departs Albany at 7:00pm (hence the need to rent a bus that would depart at 9:00pm). Follow @CapitolCamp for the latest details.
If you are coming from other parts of the State and would like to carpool / find a couch to crash on, please check out CapitolCampNY's Ride & Housing page.
