This inaugural un-conference is about convening a group of trans-partisan citizens and civil servants (and perhaps even elected officials?) to share ideas about how technology can make New York State Government work better for all the citizens of the Empire State.
(What's an un-conference? Why "Camp"? We like how Barcamp works.)

Sessions
This first CapitolCamp is sponsored by the New York State Senate, and will be led by the Senate's CIO on how the Senate is using technology to reinvent itself. At this un-conference, the Senate's CIO Office will use this opportunity to brainstorm the road ahead for technology in the Senate. In another session, the New York State Office of the Chief Information Officer will focus on how technology is being used to transform State Agencies. A third session will focus on comparing and contrasting New York State's use of technology in its government with that of other States. Additionaly, Beka Economopoulos, from Fission Strategy and New Organizing Institute and formerly of Greenpeace USA, will be hosting several sessions on how to use Social Networking tools like Facebook, Twitter and every other space in between.

Want a ride?
Not An Alternative, a brooklyn based 501c3, is renting a bus for the return journey back to NYC. The bus seats 40 and will depart at the conclusion of the post-event meet & greet (9:00pm). When registering, select CapitolCamp Attendant + evening bus ticket. Otherwise, the last train to NYC departs Albany at 7:00pm.
