What is DEMOCAMP?

 

DEMOCAMP is a meeting of promoters and participants of all polish BarCamp-like meetups for internet professionals. It is being organized together with a conference dedicated to Web 2.0 and developing community services. During DEMOCAMP the best presentations up to now from polish BarCamps will be shown.

 

The aim of DEMOCAMP is to integrate the internet community, share knowledge and ideas, and strengthen cooperation between both organizers of BarCamps and their participants.

 

 

The first polish barcamp took place in 2006 in Wroclaw. Since then the idea of such a meeting spread and nowadays barcamps are one of the most popular form of integration among internet entrepreneurs in Poland.

 

Besides the best barcamps’ presentations, DEMOCAMP will include web 2.0 conferences and sessions in UNCONFERENCE formula.

 

The conference session (June 24th) is composed of 4 speeches, 25 minutes each with invited speakers. There is a time for questions after every presentation.

 

The unconference session (June 25th) consists of a choice of main subjects and the division of participants into a few groups which will discuss individual problems. In the unconference sessions, participants will decide which issues to choose and they are free to move among groups. During the summary, representatives of each group will present their conclusions.

Participants:

First of all, participants of DEMOCAMP are creators of polish barcamps and lecturers who have delivered the most interesting presentations. Everyone connected with the internet market, both professionally and personally, is invited. We are expecting over 150 participants.

DEMOCAMP is organized by netguru sp. z o.o., organizer of Barcamp Poznań and the leading provider of WEB 2.0 solutions in Poland, in collaboration with Polish Information Society (PTI) and promoters of barcamps in Poland.
