You Are Campfully Invited to
GameCamp Waterloo
A Hobbyist Game Development Sessionfor Everybody
Hey everybody! We will be having a game development session for anybody who is interested in developing games from any standpoint, whether it be from the artwork, sound, artifical intelligence, or those who dabble in all aspects. We want to underscore the fact that we not only want developers to attend, but those interested in ANY aspect of game development. Most people who want to start making games quickly realize they need help from people skilled in areas other than writing the source. We think this will be a great way for those people to meet and share their strengths with each other and work together.
The event will take place on University of Waterloo campus, at the SLC (Student Life Centre). It will be fairly open-ended, with samples from those in attendance who are willing to share their work and talk about it. That said, if you are planning to show your work, please send me an email (mzielinski at gmail.com) with your name and a description of what you would like to present so I can construct a rudimentary schedule.
Free pizza will be provided for attendees courtesy of Microsoft Canada.
We hope to have in attendance Jean-Luc David from Microsoft to show off XNA Game Studio Express and how you can use it to deploy games to your Xbox.
Bring your laptop (if you want to present), your source code (language of your choice, of course), and a willingness to share and learn.
*UPDATE* Due to some misunderstandings with the booking of this event we have had to move it to Thursday January 18th, it still will be taking place in the SLC. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.
See you there!
